IP Addresses

Numaria allocates two types of IPs:

Shared Subnet IPs: By default each dedicated server is allocated 2 IPs from a shared /24 subnet. Customers can request up to six additional IPs from this shared subnet at any time. If more than eight IPs are required then clients must move to a Private Subnet. Please note: To avoid the hassle of an IP changeover you should purchase a Private Subnet in advance if you will need more than eight IPs within (3) three months of purchasing a dedicated server.

Private Subnet IPs: Clients that require more than eight IPs on a server must apply for a Private Subnet. Private Subnets can be purchased in different sizes: 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 IPs. A Private Subnet offers greater security and performance than a shared subnet and can be shared between multiple dedicated servers. Please Note: A Private Subnet requires 3 IPs (gateway, netmask, broadcast) to construct the network. Thus a 16 IP block yields 13 usable IPs, a 64 IP block yields 61 usable IPs and so forth.
